Description

The Master of Performing Arts-Theatre Arts (MPATHA) consists both theoretical and practical courses that provide a wider perception to the learners enrolling in the programme. It consists of 16 courses spread over two years with a dissertation in the second year.

 

This programme has the following broad objectives:

 

  • To provide theoretical and practical aspects of Theatre Arts.
  • To familiarize learners with the techniques of Art of Theatre such as Acting, Direction, Technical Aspects and also the world of Arts and Aesthetics.
  • To introduce learners to the Theatre histories of both Indian and Western and also to the contemporary developments of Theatre in India.
  • To encourage learners to create artistic performances through Scene Work, Theatre Productions and Short Films.

 

Who can be benefited by this programme (Target group): Employed, Self-employed, Free-lancers, School and College teachers, aspiring professionals, etc. in the field of Theatre who desires to upgrade their knowledge and skills in addition to acquiring a Postgraduate Degree, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

Eligibility:
Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from a recognized University/Institution

Or

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution and with a Diploma in Theatre Arts/Diploma in Acting of a one-year duration from a recognized University/Institution.

Fee Structure

Rs. 8500/- per year plus Registration + Development fee as applicable
